Abstract

Flukso is an open-source community metering platform. People install a Fluksometer in their home or office to monitor their electricity, water and gas usage and benchmark their consumption against other Fluksonians.

This talk will present the eventful history of the Fluksometer: from a first prototype fusing an Arduino with a FON router, to the CE/FCC certified hardware we have today. We’ll go through the architecture of the Fluksometer and highlight some of the design decisions made along the way.
