Data accessibility? French banks do not know. Unlike other countries, there is no standardized protocol in France access to its own data bank. On the contrary, most establishment put sticks in the wheels of those who wish to develop solutions such as scrapping Weboob.

No data integrity, poorly structured HTML, keypads, obfuscated javascript, even the introduction of anti-scrapping devices, nothing has been spared. And this is not going to improve. Enjoy the feedback of the work requires the creation and maintenance of banking modules Weboob under these conditions.

Finally, it will be presented the solutions that exist in other countries and you’re not willing to see happen in France.


Romain is the co-founder of Budget Insight, a French company which develops an application to centralize and manage bank accounts. He is also the main developer of weboob, a free library of scrapping which supports the majority of French banks.
