Abstract

The use of Open Source components in organizations transition poses new questions to IT governance. Strong experience of eight years of development around QSOs, the selection tool open source reference software, the teams of the Open Source Center Atos today flesh out the tools for the open source governance. The DrakkR framework is a coherent set of tools and methodologies that provide an answer to the frequently asked questions of the Open Source governance. This framework is structured around five components that each provide a particular service, based on a critical issue: * ECOS to quantify the potential financial benefits of migration to Open Source tools. * QSOS solution provides tools to identify unambiguously the tools that truly meet the functional requirements. * FLOSC can describe the complexity of software based on the method of function points refined by the use of additional components analysis based on the experience of users and integrators. * SLIC aims to determine the respective common and compatibility criteria of Open Source licenses. * SecurIT calls and logs events related to the security of open source deployed in infrastructure projects and components. This session presents the five components dedicated to a particular as well as the links between them through a specific case which offers a first pragmatic approach to open source governance service.
