Abstract

We will present the economy of free software in France, approximately 300 enterprises, representing 3000 jobs, acting as a catalyst within a wider industry that is reckoned to employ 30 000 people. We will analyse what these businesses are, their size, their main activities, their growth, their markets, their R&D, their perspectives and fears.
